They Wouldn't Do That, Would They?

You bet your ass they would! What I'm talking about is the recent accusations by the Democrats that Cheney is politicizing terrorism.
"They've run this play one too many times," Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., said in a conference call with reporters. "The American people simply do not recognize any validity in what they're saying."
Yes, it seems any time the Republicans lose ground, out comes another terror conspiracy, like the recent one uncovered by British intelligence. The investigation had been going on since last year, but it was only recently that they began to confiscate liquids from passengers boarding planes. Right after Joe Lieberman's loss was seen as a referendum against the war in Iraq. Which, I repeat (Because some people are too thick to get it), had nothing to do with 9/11, or alQaeda, and everything to do with leveraging the gulf region's natural resources away from the Chinese.
To a reasonable mind (those capable of independent thought, which rules out most Republicans) it seems arrests and alerts have been suspiciously timed. This latest escapade being the most recent example. And while denying Democrats charges, some Republicans have done what they have been accused of doing.
"National Democrats are stone-cold guilty of engaging in a reckless and irresponsible pattern of neglect for the security of our citizens," said Rep. Tom Reynolds, R-N.Y., the chairman of the House Republicans' campaign committee.
Hmmm. No, it doesn't seem as if the Republicans are politicizing terror at all, does it?
In a written statement, Reynolds said Democrats were sounding a "defeatist, surrender message" and catering to the party's liberal base "that prefers a flag that is lily-white to a flag that is red, white, and blue." No, it's not that they wish to surrender, it's because they know that the war in Iraq has not ceased terrorism and has in fact increased hatred towards the US. They also are smart enough to know that you can't bomb an idea. Here we see the Republicans playing to their base, the brain damaged chemically imbalanced unintelligent beer swilling NASCAR watching flag waving jackanapes.
Cheney himself even went as far to state that Ned Lamont's defeat of Lieberman 'might encourage "the al-Qaida types" who want to "break the will of the American people in terms of our ability to stay in the fight and complete the task." 'And what is the fucking task you permascowling bastard? The policies of the US government will insure the ongoing use of terrorism against American targets for years. Which means that the Republicans will be able to use it as a campaign platform indefinitely. Cheney also 'portrayed the Democratic Party as preferring that the United States "retreat behind our oceans and not be actively engaged in this conflict and be safe here at home."' Which conflict is that? The war in Iraq that was based on lies? Our illegal invasion and occupation of a sovereign country that posed no threat to national security at all? That's what the Democrats get that the Republicans don't: blowing the fuck out of a nation will do nothing to end terrorism and everything to make the indigeonous peoples disdain us even more.
Cheney even claimed he had no knowledge of the British action. Even though the Bush ADD-ministration had been aware of the investigation for awhile, and there's nothing going on in the Bush White House Cheney doesn't have his fingers in.
All the recent terror conspiracy proves is that the Republican way of fighting terror is not stopping it at all.

Great Glenda! I read somewhere that Pakistan's ISI, the people who wired Mohammed Atta his $100,000, is really a CIA asset. Why aren't we invading them? No oil?

Pakistan and Saudi Arabia - two countries with direct ties to both Al Qaeda and 9/11. Yet we continue to have 'cordial' relations with them. In fact - they currently sport 'Most Favored Nation’ status (recently changed by Bush to ‘Normal Trade Relations’ - doesn't sound quite as bad when you're talking about IRAQ - a country we are supposedly AT WAR with). Bin Laden could be spotted having tea in Riyadh and nothing would change except maybe Bush blowing the hell out of Syria. This farce is so clichéd not even Moliere would touch it!

Hey Lew what's up in the political world?

Are you guys salivating at the very thought of turning the tables in Nov?

I might suggest you fine young up and coming left wingers pull your pants/dresses up and look at the facts.

"All the recent terror conspiracy proves is that the Republican way of fighting terror is not stopping it at all. '

The Democrats have proven their way? Silence is acquiescence.
Or evidence of blackmail, graft or personal favors that with the silence so loud it has made many Death Metal bands blush.

AJ! I come back from vacation and here ya are! We've been wondering about you, haven't seen you at Blue Republic in awhile.

Back to topic- I agree that the Dems have been silent as well, enabling. People say that they cant do anything, but at least people like Feingold tried. With little support- which is ridiculous.

The Dems need to get a clue. maybe they need to get away from the focus groups and see what people really think, and expect.

We expect more than just a handful of half-hearted objections.

If only Oprah and a few other people the American people really do listen to would stand up and shout, "Liars! It's time to stop the lies! Wake up everyone and let's elect some people who will turn this ship around..." (Or something like that.)

Hey, you guys get to do some electing in November. Go for change.

There's a story at Raw Story today about Cheney getting his info about Iran the same way he got his info about Iraq. We've seen this horror movie before.

I don't care who politicising it, I'd like to know whos doing anything about it. Unless combating gay marriage and stopping illegal immigration is somehow tied to the "War" on terror in ways that I'm to much of a tard to realize, I don't think there has been anything but politiking.

Why Fred? You don't think a wartime quagmire is the time to suddenly become concerned about immigration? This isn't the time to obsess over gay marriage? Are you suggesting with war, global warming, deficit, etc. that they use issues that are divisive for a reason?

You cynic.
