Republican Ron Paul:Telling It Like It Is

In a effort to mend fences, and show that we here at LTN are not as partisan as one might think, we salute Texas Republican House member Ron Paul. In his statement before the House (and in the Congressional record, he stated (in part)

"Once again, Congress has bought into the war propaganda against Iran, just as it did against Iraq.Arguements are made for attacking Iran economically, and militarily if necessary. These arguments are all based on the same false reasons given for the ill-fated and costly occupation of Iraq."

In his statement, available for all to read called The End of Dollar Hegemony he also stated:
"For the most part the true victims aren't aware of how they pay the bills. The license to create money out of thin air allows the bills to be paid through price inflation. American citizens, as well as average citizens of Japan, China and other countries suffer from price inflation, which represents the "tax" that pays the bills for our military adventures. That is until the fraud is discovered and the foreign producers decide not to take dollars nor hold them very long in payment for their goods. Everything possible is being done to prevent the fraud of the monetary system from being exposed to the masses who suffer from it."

Partisan politics is a ruse to keep the fraud from being exposed. The people are kept distracted with minor issues such as gun control or gay marriages. These issues keep the masses voting for Republicans and Democrats, while both parties and their corporate sponsors gain the most from this corrupt system. Once the fraud of magic dollars from thin air is exposed, they will be the ones with the most to lose.

Is there a link Lew? I'd like to read the whole statement. Nice to see another indipendant voice. Although some will surely demigog him and expell him from the flock.

Magic dollars? Silly Scannon. I have it on good authority that dollars are backed by rice crispies.

I applaud the fence mending spirit and your highlighting of yet another example of how real republicans are starting to look at their party and notice the lunacy...

If you read the whole post, you will find there is a link to the whole statement by Rep. Paul.

Scannon, first of all not only did I read the whole post but I am quite familiar with the history of the gold standard and the positions of the various fed chairs. What about my joke caused you to think me to be uninformed on this topic? The joke about the backing of the dollar is most certainly compatible with the article and the lack of commodity-tied currency, and the idea that there has been strife among those within the rep. party on this question is not new either. Why don't you clarify what you are trying to say to me, it seems I'm not sure. I do not have a registered blog id so I simply wrote my comment anonymously as is my right. Regards,Ben

Sorry, Ben, I meant the link for LOC, who requested a link to the whole statement.I agree wholeheartedly with your statement with one exception. Our magic dollars are backed not by rice krispies, but by Lucky Charms (they're magically delicious)

There were no comments from others, but I see now there is. Thats why I could not figure out your accusation. Suddenly this gentleman ended up on top of me. (not the way it sounds)His comment was not there before. I swear to you. So I was very confused.

Lew Scannon said...

I understand, have had the same happen to me many times.

Lew,
Once again our minds are in synchronicity, I was up early this morning reading about this and the price of gold as reflecting the confidence plunge. Its starting. And you know how I feel about Lucky Charms! I recall transcripts of some of the questioning referred to in the article you linked. I wish you could relate it to the post on taxation below because the perspective on currency relates in part at least to some of the questions raised. And certainly the 'empire' comparisons- leaves one speechless. PS The comments are weird, there's a time delay. I posted a comment elsewhere and it didn't show up until much later.

I have suggested to the GOP higher-ups that whenever a so-called party member steps out of line, he be forced to go hunting for game birds with Dick Cheney.

Too bad they can't see me giving them the finger every day. Free speech remains protected when it is tested!

We do see, Lily. We see everything...

As for Mr. Paul, we have something in mind for him a lot more uncomfortable than a little pepper spray.

Carry on, liberals...

Hey, a republican with a brain. I new they existed. - GraemeAnfinson

We are talking about Texas Republican's here, the party formally known as "Southern Democrats"

Wadena said...

Well.....and then we COULD be talking about a scared little Crypto-Fascist bastard who is trying to better position himself for the next elections.

Said elections predicted to be tough for openly Fascist bastards who stick with Bush.

Have we got our thinking caps on, people?

I think Wadena is on to something, they pander to their 'libertarian'-like Demographic on economics but then pander to the 'government in your face' demographic on religion. I think they will start changing the colors of their slime as elections approach. They sure don't complain about slippery doings with currency when they are pretending to help the working class with their shitty tax rebates to 'stimulate'. Give us more rebates and leave interest rates alone!LOL.

I'm Ron Paul and I approve his message ^^

No, not really fluish anymore today. Now I'm only mentally sick. Mostly over the sad, sad state of things. Its so hard to keep joking about things that are so damned tragic...I wake up wanting to fight with everything I have, and invariably lie awake into the wee hours wondering why I bother. Its like trying to outrun reality.

Wadena said...

Egad!!!

We need to cheer you up!

Guess I better get started writing something about the woods.

This guy sounds almost like a libertarian, freeman/secessionist kinda guy ... like I used to run into during my years west of the Mississippi but not too far west ... gonna hav to chew on his essay ... but if he calls himself Republican and got elected as one ... then it just shows what's in a name ... hey .. I know that you all are objective and open minded ... anyhoo ... this is quite interesting ...

Lily said...

Thanks Wadena- I tried to go in the woods today but it was only four degrees and my thoughts pathetically turned to my relatives in Florida. Would they like a visit? I think I have whats called cabin fever on top of the general pissedivity I think we all suffer from around here.

Rory too! Such a great gaggle y'all are. I am so inspired each day by the intelligence and dedication- you guys rock.:)

Yes, he sounds surprisingly libertarian-objectivist, didn't think there were any of those in the spendcrazy -deficit-loving republican party! Lew got into more of this at unbrainwashed

Geez, for a moment there I thought Ru Paul was elected to congress.

RuPaul would do a better job. And provide some fashion sense.

Damn good catch Lew.
Amazing that someone from Texas, even a Republican would have the audacity to say this, at this point in history.
However,I don't give him long to live.

The action around my neck of the woods has been intense. Jet fighters,AWAX,bombers flying day and night practicing. You can hear them well over the sounds of the traffic. Friends have been given orders to gear up and split within 2 weeks.
The next few months will be very very interesting.
