Peace Be Upon You, Unless You're In A Subdivision

Christmas time is on us once again, and it's a time when people decorate their homes appropriately with lights, yard displays and wreaths. The wreath, originally gathered by the pre-Christian Germanic people, was used as a sign of hope in the coming spring and renewed light. Christians kept these traditions alive by using the wreath as a symbol of their Advent Hope, in Jesus as the Everlasting Light. You know, Jesus, the Prince of Peace?
Well, it seems a woman in Pagosa Springs CO has hit a snag with her homeowners association with her wreath. Apparently some of her neighbors are upset with hers because it is in the shape of a peace sign. The Peace Symbol actually was designed by Gerald Holtom as the logo for the Campaign For Nuclear Disarmament. It incorporates the semaphore letters N and D, for nuclear disarmament.
But neighbors of Lisa Jensen, the women who hung the wreath on her home see it as the symbol for the Antichrist, having read too many Jack Chick comics, er, I mean tracts. The association says it does not allow signs, flags etc. that can be considered divisive. Because, I guess, some people are opposed to peace?
The President of the homowners association, Bob Kearns, ordered to archetictural design to committee to order her to take it down, when they refused, saying it was merely a seasonal symbol that didn't say anything, Mr. Kearns fired all five committee members. Ms. jensen faces fines of $25 a day for leaving it up, but says she doubts they'll be able to make her pay.

I just read about this elsewhere, and find it to be pretty ironic that people would not see peace as relating to the holiday season!

I guess associating peace and christmas is so yesterday, huh? So what should we associate with christmas, war and death?

Jesus H. Christ, have people in this country lost their fucking minds along with everything else?

I don't think the Malaysian publics are "not mature". It is you Umno who are immature. A butch of corrupted morons who behaved like "Sakai". This is not third world mentality, this is "Sakai" mentality.

What a stupid statement by a stupid minister to say that Malaysians are not mature enough. What do you expect when the BN/Umno ministers themselves are morons. Do you mean to say that Malaysians are still living in caves or it is the government who want to keep the people in the dark!

Very very stupid statement from the information minister, well I guess we call him misinformation minister. What an ass!

This information minister probably has pig shit in his brain. Umno malay pig belittled and insulted the Bangsa Malaysia, they as like Hitler making speeches. They are also like spoilt children making impossible demands and throwing tantrums on the stage in front of many.

Who are really the childish and immature ones? The millions of Malaysians or Umno malay pig? You tell me. Idiots. Now we won't call a person as stupid as a pig, we should rightfully call it as stupid as an Umno malay pig because they are more stupid than a pig.

I hate to say that the way this Malaysia country is moving, it will become another Argentina or Venezuela. There will be a very clear class distinction of the rich and poor, of well educated and not so well educated.

Argentina used to be the top 10 nations in the early 20th centuries. Their elitist government focuses only on higher education and neglected the lower level education.

Whereas Japan, Korea and Taiwan came out from the bottom by emphasising education from ground up.

While we are arguing how to set the quota for bumis and non-bumis in our higher institution, our kids at primary and secondary are rotting away providing poor intake to the tertiary level.

Our public institutions of higher learning suffer from a policy which sets different pre-university standards for the different communities, effectively continuing the old quota system.

Public funds, most of which have been contributed by taxpayers, mainly by Chinese businesses and individuals, should therefore not be used without re-thinking about the approach. I recommend a more performance-based or incentive type system.

There are various ways of helping the malays. The present approaches which have been used since 1970s have proven to be dysfunctional and wasteful.

How about self-help? The malays must learn to stand on their own feet, the sooner the better. Why not use that Singapore which allows the community to develop itself with matching financial help from the government?

In this way, malay dignity and self-esteem can be restored. Over-dependence on a government has actually weakened the malays.

The real objective should have been to improve the capability and capacity of the malays to participate in the economy.

Yet, at the same time, no one should be blind to the failures and abuse of the NEP.

A culture of dependence and subsidy has fostered a continuous belief that malays can only survive in an increasingly challenging world by government handouts and preference.

Those in the majority should take into consideration the interests of the minority for a harmonious atmosphere to prevail.

I believe the majority of the malays in this country is also embarrassed by the current situation and wish to put in place some remedies for the aggrieved minority. This would work towards a truly harmonious multi-cultural, multi-racial and multi-religious Malaysian community.

The country needs to move forward. At the moment, beneath the issue of improving the fortunes of the malays, a lot of abuse has been committed by a small group of elites while the real capability of ordinary Malaysians have been largely ignored.

But the failure of the status quo will be borne by all Malaysians.

Badawi we all knows that you are a clueless and useless imbecile. The problem is that Badawi does not seem to realise that he is an imbecile. This is probably due to all the ball lickers polishing his knob everyday.

Malaysia as a country is finished economically because from the looks of things the Badawi imbecile will be in charge for the next coming 10 years or more. Neighboring countries like Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam is progressing culturally, economically, socially and politically while we are stuck with a stupid idiot.

Of all the brilliant and smart people in Malaysia we have to end up with Badawi. Welcome to Bolehland because even an idiot can become prime minister. Hahaha.

I have already lost hope in this Malaysia years ago. Now, my priority is to make the money oversea/here and banked it in a bank oversea. Get a PR status elsewhere. In fact, I don't even bother to vote anymore. Waste my time and petrol money.

Leave Malaysia to the bigots. One day, when they bled Malaysia dry, the country will go back to the Stone Age.

By not seeking to help our children to reach their fullest potential is a sin by itself, you stay and you kill their hope by marginalized their talent, yes! You lost your racial pride of a race Han touted 5000 years old. We are talking about kids being taught by incompetent teachers and lecturers, you have no way of helping them to reach their fullest potential, given them what they deserve.

Who gave you the idea that ex-Malaysians are losers? We are doing Malaysia proud, renowned surgeons from Malaysia in top hospitals all over the world, ministers of Singapore from born in Penang, Malaysia engineers in fortune 500 companies.

Sorry I should not say 'offer', this people climb to such status on own merits where meritocracy is the call of the day.

You have a point talking of migration of this scale, I foresee the Chinese population will reduce till say below 15% by 2020 and below 10% by 2030.

Especially the professional they are the most likely to emigrate but no matter what percentage the remaining 5% or 10% they are always the business class because the malays didn't teach and allow them how to be professional like teachers or lecturers.

I have left years ago and my siblings are still doing fine in Malaysia and main concern is providing for their children's education, so to fulfill each child potential to the fullest is something which I think is a birth right and I really appreciate and admire government who abide by this policy.

Badawi can formulate any policy. On the ground level where the heads are not qualified themselves as their staff - many problems will arise.

Further the NEP will somehow make good researchers frustrated and will certainly be the main causes of frustrations. At best we can get the second rate staff to stay - the top ones will have no problem seeking better salaries and futures elsewhere without the glass ceiling overhanging their heads.

Our national sense of belonging will be lost when day in and day out we feel the impact of marginalisation in almost every sphere of educational or economic activities.

I think we are in even more for hubs of abandoned projects because it is the brains that matters not real estate buildings which politicians are only good at how to initiate to build for their own gains. When coming to real research and real productive work, you only have lots of unemployable graduates lining up to fill them.

Best of luck Malaysia, while Malaysians of the best calibre are in our neighbouring countries creating state of art products and discoveries.

The people with brains first go to Singapore, then Australia, then the US/UK. Apparently roughly two million Malaysians have emigrated since the 1970s. Wow, what a brain drain that is……….

She/He did the right thing by moving out of Malaysia. As long as is a non-malay and Malaysian, you will be suppressed. They don't need scientists but more keris wielding morons to run the expensive labs.

So anytime the experiment didn't work out, they can go straight and blame that the equipment is outdated. Anybody disputes their claim, they can take out the keris and showed their "power". Good for them. Malaysia is turning to a baboon infested country.

Let alone those whose have already left. How about those who came back earlier with their foreign wives! The immigration department has made their renewal of visa a living hell, and they are not allowed to work no matter how qualified they may be. Eventually these "loyal Malaysians" also end up packing their bags and leave.

The politicians can say one thing but it never gets implemented at the ground level. Look at the mess surrounding Malaysia "My Second Home" campaign - how many have actually come here and then left in deep frustration!

The racists in Umno will also make certain that such policies will be doomed to fail. They would rather give citizenship to unruly and uneducated illegal Indonesians than some non-malay PhD holders.

Get your children out of this sucking country before it is too late! This is a hopeless and dirty country with all the corrupted politicians and lousy ministers.

I am afraid there is nothing second class citizens like us can do.

Emigrate to other countries looks to be a better option. Of course, the exodus has started decades ago. In fact, Umno will be most happy to see us go (race ratio, you know what I mean).

Umno does not depend on the second class citizens for the brains. They have the many universities in Bolehland to train their kind and churn out any number of experts you want. So brain drain is not a problem.

Today my son asked me an embarrassing question: Dad, what is a bumi?

I was embarrassed and told him: A bumi is someone who is always right. He was puzzled and asked me candidly: But if he says that 2 + 2 = 6, he should be wrong, shouldn't he?

I told him from my working experience in Malaysia, my son when you are non-malay and Malaysian, you will have to agree for that and even worst and smile. If you dare to argue you will be gently destroyed and degraded in your human dignity.

Whatever is your social position, situation or grade, any bumi even from the remotest kampung, even a mentally disabled bumi will always be right.

Then he asked, is there many bumi in the world? I told him that in South Africa 30 years ago and in Germany on the late 1930s there were some sorts of them.

I told him, do not worry son, you will not have to go through 2 + 2 = 6 always right losers, you will be Australian.

Have any of you ever heard of Umno Youth talking about the Rukunegara in all their speeches or in their vision of Malaysia?

Never heard it mentioned at all. It is all about "keris and darah".

Why is this grandson of Onn Jaffar, who is amok prone and frothing in his mouth wanting to dip his keris in the blood of non-malays, still remains as Malaysia education minister!

Tell that to our children in our primary and secondary schools around the country.

Ask Pak Lah the same question. If it is in other countries, he would have been sacked from the position in the cabinet by the prime minister or reassigned to other portfolio.

It just shows Pak Lah is our prime minister with no marbles - a prime minister with questionable judgment by allowing this man to continue to be the leader of our impressionable and young children around the country.

Only idiots and morons will justify the pulling out the keris as malay culture - why don't these Umno jokers go around visiting their friends and start pulling out their keris!

And do not justify the keris waving and bring disrepute to our sultans by equating the action of Hisham and sultan ceremonial function where the keris is used.

In my many years, I have never heard or seen any sultan screaming with the keris unsheathed. So Umno members don't try confuse the two, and show a little respect to the sultans too.

There is enough recorded evidence that racist and seditious remarks were uttered over the few days of the Umno assembly. The authorities should have acted by now.

Anonymous said...

The very foundation of Umno are lies - lies about May 13 riot, lies about secularity of constitution, lies about special rights, lies about supremacy of court, and of course lies about the NEP.

How can our accountability and transparency not be limited by the very lies of the foundation of our governance?

I think it is very unfair, shallow, selfish and naive to call people who have emigrated as quitters. I won't do that. If you respect democracy you must respect their views and decisions as they are entitled to as part of human rights and freedom.

People who emigrate should not be called quitters. They are just exercising their basic human rights and the world is now a more open place where talents can go where it is most appreciated.

I graduated in 1971 and about 25% of my schoolmates have emigrated mostly to Australia.

As a minority among the minority, my wife and I managed to get our 4 children into university, and all 4 children will be qualified to work anywhere they choose.

1 in UK, 1 in Singapore, 1 in Canada and the youngest is studying in the UK. Our policy is that all our children will be global citizens free to work where they wish.

The worst thing about the race-based parties is that it perpetuates leaders that can only garner support using racist tactics to stay in power.

The real natives of Malaysia have been exploited by newer arrivals who now claim all kinds of rights.

Malaysia does not treat its own citizens fairly and many an illegal immigrants offspring can become a first class citizen within two generations while people born here over many generations can be officially discriminated.

That is a sure way to a nation decline. We must really have policies based on principles and not race.

I don't think we should stand in the way of those who wish to buy insurance policies against unbearable government discrimination. By all means get your PR in the US, UK, New Zealand, Singapore, Australia if you can afford it.

Send your children overseas in the hope that they can get jobs overseas, without having to fight the ensuing lack of meritocracy in so many facets of life, and the affirmative action policies of Malaysia.

However, spare a thought for those who cannot afford such insurance policies, and continue to help fight the injustice in our own country - remember to return when there is a election and vote for regime change, or contribute financially to the opposition cause.

Many people do not realise that the next 5 years will truly define the future of the non-malays in Malaysia.

It is now when we contribute the most to taxes, to private sector investment, and to EPF that we can demand our grievances that be heard.

Forget about the Mute Indian Congress and the Mute Chinese Association - they have already sold their souls for short-term gain, so we will need to give the opposition (whether it is PAS, Keadilan or DAP) the chance to wave the flag of justice.

Badawi should resign immediately. I will never vote for a party that promotes hate amongst the people.

Badawi is known for his "cakap tak serupa bikin" attitude, and this sets a very bad example for all his down liners, such that high level crimes and corruption thrives.

Malaysia is losing FDI everyday to other countries, and does not have a clear direction politically and economically. It is only a matter of time before Malaysia becomes a pariah state.

You stinking malay pig, please get the f*** back to your own land in Aceh or Jawa, whatever. Because this is Tanah Orang Asli and malay pig like you are pendatang!

To someone……….time and time again we have said that the malays are from Jawa. I always say that they are from Aceh, Sumatra, etc - do you see anyone of these racists (obviously malays) objecting to that fact?

This is the truth and they cannot handle this. They don't dare say that because it is so true! Even Mahathir admitted recently - the origins of the malays are not Malaysia but Indonesia - Sumatra and island etc.

The real bumis are the natives of Borneo and the Orang Asli. Not these malay free loaders and wasted sperms.

"Son of the soil" incorrect! More appropriate term would be "Rapist of the soil"! Malays are pendatang, they called Chinese and Indians pendatang! Tak malu!

To malays pendatang from Indonesia, you are also enemy to Indonesia, stupid! Apa? Tak faham English? Makan tahi dan berambus balik ke Jawa! Setia kepada negara Indonesia! So are you, malay pig!

Aren't you a bloody hypocrite? You are not the Orang Asli of this country - you are an immigrant from Jawa, Sulawesi, all elsewhere - why did you come here to this country then?

Why not help your own country (or should I say your dilapidated kampung in Jawa) and improve the situation then? What……….what did you say? Oh you want a better life is it? I see - so what does that make you? A patriotic fake? Or a hypocrite with no substance?

Compare China and Indonesia - then tell me who is faring better in the international stage! You useless malay pig. At the end of the day - you work for me.

Obviously, you are worse than shit. Not pigs, for pigs are really smart animals. Tanah Melayu my ass! Orang Asli were here before your ancestors crept onto this land. Learn some history, ok? Of course, you can always change history! Tak malu kah!

You are sick in the brain, thanks to Mahathir!

Chinese got pissed off as not all Chinese are rich, but all work their asses off to make an honest living, while idiots like you think that you are entitled to riches without sweating. What discontent? After all these years all the handouts, you still couldn't get your acts together, and you want to blame others, the Chinese, the Indians? Where is your dignity?

What anger? You get angry at the Olympics because malays can't run faster than the Americans? The Aussies? The Chinese? (Just imagine some of you jokers made it to the Olympics, although none did!)

If you want to run amok, go ahead, join the apes and chimpanzees, your kind have been doing that at UPM, brainless monkeys they are, and so are you, go flock together.

The reason why malays tend to run "amok" is because of close relative breeding. Just like non-high breed dogs - brother have sex with the mother, and father marry their own sister, and the confusion goes on.

The end result is non-high breed dogs - that are difficult to train and tend to even bite their own master. Unlike the Chinese, they are very careful not to have too close relative marrying one another.

That is why you can see how Chinese excel in different part of the world. The Chinese are indeed a world race now, as China progress with such speed which is unknown off in any other race in the world!

Singapore is a fine example of Chinese superiority! Sad news for the malay race but then again it is the truth!

(Malay extremists racists are going to call you pendatang etc, even hang you upside down by your balls, for socking them in the balls where it hurts most, like you did.

But you have been brave in telling them the truth about the dark side of their race which explains why they are so backward. God be with you……….)

Rich and successful Chinese don't owe you a thing. Not so successful Chinese are working honestly to make ends meet. So, you either work, or go get fed in the ass by Mahathir, ok? He won't charge you for the ecstasy and the service you may receive.

You are nothing but scum. You give fellow malays a bad name. You make your parents lose face. When you look in the mirror, what do you see? A good-for-nothing idiot! That is all there is in you.

You are a babi hutan from either the jungle of Jawa or Sumatra. All you Umno malay pig are in fact pendatang to this Tanah Orang Asli. So get the f*** out of my country!

If you guys are expecting moron Hisham/Khairy to apologise - you can forget about it. Numbskulls only react and ask pope to apologise over remarks and they are willing to kill over it.

And here we have one dumb oaf whose mouth moves faster than his brain. I wonder if this is what they learn from Umno because we have seen so many moronic Umno members who speak so fast that their own brains can't digest.

Top 5 Umno no brain members.

1. Badawi
2. Hisham
3. Khairy
4. Najib
5. Nazri

Bush goes ballistic about other countries being evil and dangerous, because they have weapons of mass destruction. But, he insists on building up even a more deadly supply of nuclear arms right here in the US. What do you think? What is he doing to us, and what is he doing to the world?
Our country is in debt until forever, we don't have jobs, and we live in fear. We have invaded a country and been responsible for thousands of deaths.
We have lost friends and influenced no one. No wonder most of the world thinks we suck. Thanks to what george bush has done to our country during the past three years, we do!

It's been interesting to read such free-flowing comments on an all "Malaysian" free for all. While we are on the subject, how many of you have read the book entitled "Contesting Malayness"? Written by a Professor of National University of Singapore. Cost S$32 (about). It reflects the Anthropologists views that there is no such race as the "Malays" to begin with. If we follow the original migration of the Southern Chinese of 6,000yrs ago, they moved into Taiwan, (now the Alisan), then into the Phillipines (now the Aeta) and moved into Borneo (4,500yrs ago) (Dayak). They also split into Sulawesi and progressed into Jawa, and Sumatera. The final migration was to the Malayan Peninsular 3,000yrs ago. A sub-group from Borneo also moved to Champa in Cambodia at 4,500yrs ago.

Interestingly, the Champa deviant group moved back to present day Kelantan. There are also traces of the Dong Song and HoaBinh migration from Vietnam and Cambodia. To confuse the issue, there was also the Southern Thai migration, from what we know as Pattani today. (see also "Early Kingdoms of the Indonesian Archipelago and the Malay Peninsular")

Of course, we also have the Minangkabau's which come from the descendants of Alexander the Great and a West Indian Princess. (Sejarah Melayu page 1-3)

So the million Dollar Question... Is there really a race called the "Malays"? All anthropologists DO NOT SEEM TO THINK SO.

Neither do the "Malays" who live on the West Coast of Johor. They'd rather be called Javanese. What about the west coast Kedah inhabitants who prefer to be known as "Achenese"? or the Ibans who simply want to be known as IBANS. Try calling a Kelabit a "Malay" and see what response you get... you’ll be so glad that their Head-Hunting days are over.

The definition of “Malay” is therefore simply a collection of people's who speak a similar type language. With what is meant by a similar type language does not mean that the words are similar. Linguists call this the "Lego-type" language, where words are added on to the root word to make meaning and give tenses and such. Somehow, the Indonesians disagree with this classification. They refuse to be called Malay…. Anyhow you may define it. Watch “Malays in Africa”; a Museum Negara produced DVD. Also, the “Champa Malays” by the same.

With this classification, they MUST also include the Phillipinos, the Papua New Guineans, the Australian Aboroginies, as well as the Polynesian Aboroginies. These are of the Australo Melanesians who migrated out of Africa 60,000yrs ago.

Getting interesting? Read on...

"Malay" should also include the Taiwanese singer "Ah Mei" who is Alisan as her tribe are the anscestors of the "Malays". And finally, you will need to define the Southern Chinese (Funan Province) as Malay also, since they are from the same stock 6,000yrs ago.

Try calling the Bugis a "Malay". Interestingly, the Bugis, who predominantly live on Sulawesi are not even Indonesians. Neither do they fall into the same group as the migrating Southern Chinese of 6,000yrs ago nor the Australo Melanesian group from Africa.

Ready for this?

The Bugis are the cross-breed between the Chinese and the Arabs. (FYI, a runaway Ming Dynasty official whom Cheng Ho was sent to hunt down) Interestingly, the Bugis were career Pirates in the Johor-Riau Island areas. Now the nephew of Daeng Kemboja was appointed the First Sultan of Selangor. That makes the entire Selangor Sultanate part Arab, part Chinese! Try talking to the Bugis Museum curator near Kukup in Johor. Kukup is located near the most south-western tip of Johor. (Due south of Pontian Kechil)

Let's not even get into the Hang Tuah, Hang Jebat, Hang Kasturi, Hang Lekiu, and Hang Lekir, who shared the same family last name as the other super famous "Hang" family member... Hang Li Poh. And who was she? the princess of a Ming Dynasty Emperor who was sent to marry the Sultan of Malacca. Won't that make the entire Malacca Sultanate downline "Baba" ? Since the older son of the collapsed Malaccan Sultanate got killed in Johor, (the current Sultanate is the downline of the then, Bendahara) the only other son became the Sultan of Perak. Do we see any Chinese-ness in Raja Azlan? Is he the descendant of Hang Li Poh?

Next question. If the Baba’s are part Malay, why have they been marginalized by NOT BEING BUMIPUTERA? Which part of “Malay” are they not? Whatever the answer, why then are the Portugese of Malacca BUMIPUTERA? Did they not come 100yrs AFTER the arrival of the first Baba’s? Parameswara founded Malacca in 1411. The Portugese came in 1511, and the Dutch in the 1600’s. Strangely, the Baba’s were in fact once classified a Bumiputera, but a decided that they were strangely “declassified” in the 1960’s. WHY?

The Sultan of Kelantan had similar roots to the Pattani Kingdom making him of Thai origin. And what is this "coffee table book" by the Sultan of Perlis claiming to be the direct descendant of the prophet Muhammed? Somehow we see Prof Khoo Khay Khim’s signature name on the book. I’ll pay good money to own a copy of it myself. Anyone has a spare?

So, how many of you have met with orang Asli’s? the more northern you go, the more African they look. Why are they called Negrito’s? It is a Spanish word, from which directly transalates “mini Negros”. The more southern you go, the more “Indonesian” they look. And the ones who live at Cameron Highlands kinda look 50-50. You can see the Batek at Taman Negara, who really look like Eddie Murphy to a certain degree. Or the Negritos who live at the Thai border near Temenggor Lake (north Perak). The Mah Meri in Carrie Island look almost like the Jakuns in Endau Rompin. Half African, half Indonesian.

By definition, (this is super eye-opening) there was a Hindu Malay Empire in Kedah. Yes, I said right… The Malays were Hindu. It was, by the old name Langkasuka. Today known as Lembah Bujang. This Hindu Malay Empire was 2,000yrs old. Pre-dating Borrobudor AND Angkor Watt. Who came about around 500-600yrs later. Lembah Bujang was THE mighty trading empire, and its biggest influence was by the Indians who were here to help start it. By definition, this should make the Indians BUMIPUTERAS too since they were here 2,000yrs ago! Why are they marginalized?

So, in a nutshell, the “Malays” (anthropologists will disagree with this “race” definition) are TRULY ASIA !!! (main continent and West Asia included)

We should stop calling this country “Tanah Melayu” instead call it, “Tanah Truly Asia”
For once the Tourism Ministry got it right J
