The Byrd Rule-What is it, and why doesn't it figure more prominently in the budget process?...(continued)

Today at Blue Republic's Pork Report, the subject is the Byrd Rule. It is a rule that is designed to target pork barrel spending and earmark add-ons. And it needs to be expanded.

We do not permit a President to use a line item veto, and yet we permit irrelevant add ons to spending bills. Why? Why aren't we making more of an issue about these "Bridges to Nowhere"?

Why aren't we taking these politicians that add in their little pay offs to task?
